Dandelion Sweater xsmall - xlarge knitting pattern
The story behind the Dandelion sweater
It was a cold April 1, 2022, and I was enjoying myself with my youngest daughter at a pizza restaurant in Jægergårdsgade in Aarhus. It was one of those moments where there is plenty of time for coziness and presence. It became even more magical when the whole street suddenly became one with the sky and the snow poured down. A young girl came walking past the window in a leather and suede patchwork jacket. An 80s jacket with beautiful details. Large armholes and lines that stood out sharply across the jacket in the various patchwork fields. It was only a glimpse of the jacket as the snow obscured all the details. But the flash sparked creativity - I got an idea.
The idea was turned into sketches when I got home, and the construction of the sweater initially became a three-piece sweater. I knitted it in four colors and intarsia technique. The construction in the next version allowed me to knit the upper part in one piece, but the yarn gave a too heavy look. After the third version, which was also too heavy, I finally found the right combination between Trio 1 and Silk Mohair. It created the flowery look I was after. The pearl knit also came into its own more and with the lightness of the sweater, I thought of dandelions - the ones you breathe on. With the fine hair-shaped fluff that carries the seeds like snowflakes through the air, I was immediately back in Jægergårdsgade.
Have fun, J

The number of rounds is added to the existing pattern; respectively at the beginning of the sleeve at the beginning of the pattern and at the end of the second sleeve.
